EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION

Offering Annual Scholarships and Grants That Make a Difference

The International Furnishings and Design Association Education Foundation (IFDA/EF) is the philanthropic and educational branch of IFDA. All IFDA members are also part of the Foundation. Its mission is to support educational programs and initiatives that enhance quality of life and provide opportunities for students and professionals in the furnishings and design industry.

IFDA/EF funds scholarships and grants, including the Green/Sustainable Scholarship, Marketing Internship Scholarship, and Ruth Clark Furniture Design Scholarship. Grants like the Tony Torrice Professional Development Grant and Ina Mae Kaplan Historic Preservation Grant also offer support for continuing education and professional development.

The Foundation sponsors the national Raymond Waites Design Competition, providing financial rewards to emerging designers. Funded by chapter donations, memorials, and special events, the Foundation is a non-profit 501(C)3 organization, managed by a five-member Board of Trustees.

IFDA/EF’s latest fundraising initiative, "March to a Million," includes a national "Walk for Design Education," aiming to support design education efforts.
